Windows 10: Computer spamming keys, touchpad and mouse broken, random zoom-ins

My computer just started malfunctioning about 20 minutes ago. It keeps spamming the “+” key to the point where I can’t search anything up, and the screen randomly zooms in when I press the “Fn” button. My touchpad has also broken and only works when I press in specific areas. I have tried restarting the computer and booting it up in safe mode but nothing is working. Is this a virus? What can I do to fix this that doesn’t require me to search things up as the + key will fill the search bar?

Randomly zooming in and out on everything

Win 10 version: 19043.1586 As the title says. Launched my PC today and it randomly zooms in and out on every possible application. Makes reading/browsing a nightmare. I barely made an account here. PC restart does nothing. Problem persists if mouse or keyboard are not plugged in. Neither reinstall or uninstall of mouse drivers worked. I tried logging in and out from my profile, as suggested in some thread, but it did not work. This isn't tied to the CTLR+Scroll, since I get random zoom-ins on Discord, where the shortcut doesn't work. Every fix that I found was on a laptop, as apparently it was a touchpad issue. I have a PC. I'm pretty sure there was an update recently. Should I rollback?

 

I want to disable touchpad on Dell laptop


Hello everyone,
My laptop's touchpad works and I don't want it to, because I prefer a mouse. It's a Dell Inspiron 11 3000 series on windows 10 OS.

What I have tried that hasn't worked:

• start<settings<devices<mouse & touchpad<additional mouse options. This opens a window called Mouse Options which has 5 tabs up top, none of which involve the touchpad. The Hardware tab shows 2 devices: the mouse itself, and the USB. No touchpad there.
• windows key+x<mobility center. No touchpad to be found.
• various function keys. No options for touchpad on/off.
• device manager<mice and other pointing devices. Again, only the mouse and usb show up. It appears the touchpad is working without a driver, which is a little spooky.

Any other suggestions? I could try downloading a third party driver, but that seems like a step in the wrong direction.

random right mouse button spam

I have the synaptics touchpad drivers and it seems to be a good patchwork to stop the random right click spam. you have to run the compatibility mode for the synaptics touch drivers and that seem to fix the issue
