  1. Computer thinks Alt key is pressed repeatedly

I have googled this issue quite a lot, its inconsistent when it happens but when it Does happen its an absolute pain in the butt.
-On screen keyboard shows ALT is held down,(or pressed fast) clicking alt flashes it off and it turns back on.
-Unplugging keyboard does nothing, problem persists even while keyboard is disconnected.
-Restarting computer usually fixes the problem but it will usually be back some time later (anywhere from a minute or two to a few weeks later)
-As restarting fixes the problem there is no way for me to know if safemode would really fix anything.
-All Macros are disabled and shut off but alt is still spammed 10~ times a second.
    -Sticky keys is off.
-Enabling Filter keys will play the beeping sounds really fast which is why I know alt is being pressed really fast and not held down.

  3. Alt key is acting like it's being repeatedly pressed

    Hi,

I have an issue that just started popping up after I installed the latest update, I do not know if it's related, but my Alt key starts to act like someone is pressing it repeatedly. It's not steady or continuous, but it is persistant and I can't actually
find a way to stop it. I pulled up the onscreen keyboard and it seemed like it stopped for a bit. That was this morning, this evening it's back to the usual behaviour and I can see both Alt keys flashing on and off. It was extremely noticeable in firefox where
the alt key hides and shows the top menues. I have done a few virus and malware scans and even windows own scans and error checking and nothing is being found. I deleted the drivers for the keyboard and mouse and didn't find that this helped at all. Anyone
have any idea what could be causing this and what might fix it? Doing a clean reformat isn't an option at the moment, but obviously I'll do it if needed, but I'd like that to be a last resort.

Computer thinks Alt key is pressed repeatedly

    ctrl alt del to logon

    Hi Diane,

Conflicts with the user account settings is one of the possible reasons why the secure sign-in option is enabled on your computer even if the box in the settings is not checked. I would suggest that you enable and disable the
Require users to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete. You can follow the steps below:

    • Press the Windows key + R.
    • Type control userpasswords2 or netplwiz and press the Enter key.
    • Click the Advanced tab.
    • Under Secure sign-in, check the Require users to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete checkbox.
    • Click Apply.
    • Restart your computer.
    • Open the same settings again and uncheck the Require users to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete checkbox and follow the
      steps 5 and 6.

Should you need further assistance, don't hesitate to get back to us.
