    Computer will not update past Build number 10.0.19042.928


    I have several domain attached computers that are not updating. The current Build number is 10.0.19042.928. All other non-domain computers are working fine. I have tried all sorts of solutions but none have worked. Examples I have tried SFC DISM commands. Stopping update services then renaming software distribution folders, and then starting up the services again. Windows Update assistant Fails; it only goes to downloading updates and then stops. I have even tried media creation tool but it updates to 10.0.19043.928 and then just displays "Your device is missing important security and quality

    Intel Updates Core 2 Quad Q9550 to E-0 Stepping

    We continue our Monday news list with another Intel story that brings to our attention information concerning the company and more specificly its 2.83GHz Core 2 Quad Q9550 chips that will move from the current C-1 to the newer E-0 stepping. The updated chips will start selling on August 22nd, featuring the following changes:
    • New SSpec and MM numbers for the converting products
    • CPUID will change from 0x10677 to 0x1067A
    • Package change to Halide free package
    Apart from that, the new stepping CPUs will not include any other changes. Of course, like most new stepping parts a BIOS update will be needed.

    Hi, I've no idea if this is related; reading
    KB5000842 CU Windows 10 v2004 build 19041.906 and v20H2 19042.906
    it says
    - suggesting at least that MS has been fiddling around in that area.

    You might try uninstalling that update.

    Compare:
    KB5001330 CU Windows 10 v2004 build 19041.928 and v20H2 19042.928
