I once did testing in a Windows 10 VMware Virtual Machine. I deleted some registry keys, and it screwed it up pretty bad. On one VM, after the deletion was complete, applications, and the start menu fails to launch, and I got an "Unknown hard error". And when i restarted it, it booted to a crash screen, then went into automatic repair, and it said it failed. On another one, Windows 10 actually survived. It booted, but it was almost useless. At first it kept flashing black and refreshing. All that worked was the sound mixer and Run. No search, no Start menu. And the file explorer was even broken, so the only was to access it was to launch the Run application and click "Browse" What causes this? When you delete the registry, does it corrupt your system files, or leave corrupted entries in the registry. What happens? What is the main cause of deleting registry causing problems?

    :)

Did our Epson printer get hacked?

Another question, is this on a home network or a work network? The steps @eidairaman1 listed are always a good first step. If this is on a work network you manage, I'd be much more concerned than the home one. It is possible someone is screwing with you, but malware could also be the culprit.
