Text disappearing when conditional format applied?

    Hello! Han2708

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community

I understand that you are experiencing an issue with text disappearing when conditional formatting is applied in Excel.

    Allow me to ask:

    • What version and edition of Office do you have installed in your device? Example: Personal/Family/Enterprise?
      • You can open any Office apps
      • Go to File > Accounts - on the right side you can see Product Information
    • What error message are you getting?
    • Is the file shared by someone else? or originally created by you?

To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

    1. Select the cell(s) where the text is disappearing.

    2. Go to the "Home" tab in the Excel ribbon.

    3. Click on the "Conditional Formatting" button and select "Manage Rules".

    4. In the "Manage Rules" dialog box, select the rule that is causing the issue.

    5. Click on the "Edit Rule" button.

    6. In the "Edit Formatting Rule" dialog box, make sure that the "Stop If True" checkbox is unchecked.

    7. Click on the "OK" button to save the changes.

This should prevent the text from disappearing when the conditional formatting is applied.

We will also leave the thread open for any volunteer moderators to join in and share their opinion/suggestions to help you with your concern.

    Thank you,

    Vince

    Conditional formatting oddity?

    Conditional Formatting

    Hi J,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

If you select the first revised ship date cell and select Conditional Formatting - Highlight Rules - Greater than and then click the corresponding estimated shipping date cell, that should set the conditional formatting for that cell.

Then to apply that rule to all other cells in that column, select that cell, then click 'Format Painter' and click the cell below that cell and drag down to fill the column with the same conditional formatting rule.
