Windows 10: Configure Win 7 using AIK/ADK on WIn 10?

Build 10041 works extremely well on Hyper-V. Sysprep has some glitches but I've found out quite a few workarounds already, been sysprepping since Wednesday evening when I got the 10041 ISO (see this post and the one following it).

 

Alas. My home machine, whilst a beast in its own right, simply is not playing nicely with Win 10.

On Win 7 I was able to run both VMWare and VBox with no issues. But no matter what combination of options I have enabled in the BIOS of that machine, the minute I enable Hyper-V and it starts rebooting, it goes into a boot loop cycle that ends after the third iteration at the recovery options window.

So, I'm starting to buy newer components - starting with mobo, CPU and RAM, and then I'll probably piecemeal it from there into the next Beast - this will be Mark VI.


It really, really bugs me, though, that a laptop with a setup that, among other apps, Gibson's Securable says *cannot* support virtualization does in Win 10, whereas a machine that I know fully well does support it won't let Win10 boot if Hyper -V is enabled. But I've put too much time into this now and I need a working system again at home - a dinky little Celeron-based laptop is no match for my desktop. And the Inquisition is calling me again....


Thanks for all your assistance, Kari, Joe, and everyone else - If any one can help me figure out a way to boot a single Citrix XenServer 6.5-based VM from a device other than a DVD and in such a way that I can capture the image to a UFD, that would be great - optimally, I'd like to boot off that UFD *and* capture the image to that UFD (Yes, I have a 128 GB USB 3.0 UFD - space is not the issue).


Every piece of documentation I have found has made things messier and messier, but has not given me direct access to the UFD when booting from it, or else for some odd reason does not see the UFD is I boot from DVD....

 

You might get better help starting a new thread asking the specific Citrix question, as Citrix experts may not look at a thread which is ostensibly about AIK/ADK.

I know nothing about Citrix, but I have had success getting VirtualBox to boot from a VHD file. I think I created a VHD, used Diskpart to format it as if it's a UFD (probably FAT32 as I was using EFI mode) and then copy the bootable files to it. Will Citrix boot from a VHD?
