  1. Configuring Photos app in Windows 10

    Hi,

I am trying to configure the MS Photos App but I am find it impossible to do so. Some of the things i would like to configure are:

    1. The default tab that it starts on. I would prefer to set it on Folders rather than its out of the box default of Collection

    2. The type of picture files it displays by default. For example, I would prefer that it did not display Nikon NEF raw files but only the JPEG files I generate from them in post production. Yes, I know I could I turn off NEF file recognition completely, but it is useful to have it available in File Explorer when I am editing pictures in post production

It seems likely that the app is just not flexible enough to allow me to do this. Can anyone confirm that? Thanks

By the way, I am running 1903, Windows 10 Pro

    :)

  2. WINDOWS 10 MICROSOFT PHOTO APP

    Hello,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

The Photos app brings together pictures from all your devices using OneDrive, so that you can browse them by date, album or folder. It also automatically enhances photos, and creates albums for you, to showcase your best shots.

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps:

    Method 1:

I suggest you to change the Default apps in the setting app and verify the result. You may follow the steps in the below:

    • Go to settings and system.
    • Click on Default Apps and select the appropriately.

    Method 2:

I suggest you to reinstall Photo app using the PowerShell command
and reinstall using the Windows store. Follow the below steps.

    • Open the Start menu, type Windows PowerShell in the search bar.
    • Right click on the Windows PowerShell and select Run as administrator.
    • Enter the below command to uninstall the Photo app.

    • get-appxpackage *Microsoft.Windows.Photos* | remove-appxpackage
