Conflict between my local Settings and the Microsoft Account online

    Hi,

I have bought a Windows 10 app but it tells me "it looks like you don't have any devices linked to your account". I try to add a Windows PC, and get the dialog box telling me how to do it. "Go to Settings - Your info - click on Sign in with a Microsoft account instead"

BUT when I do go into the Your Info page, lo and behold, it's telling me Sign in with a local account insteadwhich means that I am already using a Microsoft account. However all the info on it is different to the online account info - it's showing me a different image, email address, username etc.

I'm just going round and round between online info, which asks me to add the PC, and the PC that just sends me back online. Somewhere there is conflicting data, but I have no idea how to resolve it and end up with just one Microsoft account.

    Help please!

    Roland

    :)

  2. Local account installation question

I'm fairly certain that Skip this step was available in 10.0.130 - the workaround in Step 20 (back button) is no longer required.

The currently known, as of 10.0.130, ways to create a Local account sign-in are
    • Skip this step at the MS account creation phase
    • No Internet connection during the install
    • static IP (post# 2 by Fragment) - New (to me anyway)
