Windows 10: Connecting my PC Tower to my laptop?? Is it possible?? PLEASE HELP!

Hi thereI'm connecting my old PC Windows Tower to my newer RAZR laptop with Windows 10I have them connected with a VGA chord from the tower to an HDMI cable into the laptopWhen I plug it in, my computer screen blinks for a moment and makes a beep -- as though it recongizes the tower -- but then nothing! What else do I need and what more can I do?I REALLY need to access this tower and get some of my old files from it! Thank you!

That seems a very old version of Connect. What version of Windows are you running on the laptop? Build 17763 suggests it is version 1809. What version are you running on the Desktop?


You could try resetting Connect. Click on Start and type 'connect' then select 'App settings' from the list on the right.

 

Laptop and tower seem to be connected??

So I have a tower that I built years ago and it has been my daily user and just a few days ago I got a laptop. Signed in with the same Microsoft account because I don't know why you wouldn't and here's the issue. Every time my tower is hibernating because
i don't like putting it into sleep or shutting down every night it will literally just turn on when I turn on my laptop. It makes absolutely no sense and I know for a fact my laptop is turning it on because my tower had been off all day and the second i turn
on my laptop my tower just powers up. Someone please help me.
