Windows 10: Connecting to a Mac

It might be that the MAC is HFS formatted which is unreadable by Windows. Then again, SMB should've already rectified that issue.

Additional info:

I remember that newer versions of Windows have a much more stringent network security policy. Try reducing the security policy buy opening local security policy editor -> local policies -> security options -> Nework Security: Manager Authentication level -> Send LM & NTLM...





Try and see if that helps.

One or more protocols are missing????

Through SMB i can connect from the mac to the pc flawlessly

That is nothing to do with this thread.

It is an ongoing issue with Wi-Fi. There are dozens of threads about it here but no solution.

I have 2 MBP (a 2013 on build 14352 and a 2006 on 10586). Both have suffered but the one on the latest insider build is working better. I've tried everything (re-installing drivers, running random terminal commands etc) but nothing consistently works.

Just reboot a few times and it starts working again - at least for me.

 

Hi, I was having this same problem. This is what worked for me: Went to settings on my mac, then file sharing, options. Then I checked the box under "on" next to account name. It worked right away. I clicked on my macbook in windows 10 and entered the same username and password I use to login to my mac it worked. Before changing this setting, I would get a message that the username or password was incorrect. Hope this helps (and makes sense because I don't really know a lot about computers). I know this post is old, but maybe someone will get some use out of it.
