    Connecting to WiFi

I have two laptops, both on latest offered upgrades.

HP laptop connects fine but the other - ASUS Aspire E15 not able to now. No problems with Desktop or various iPads.

    Appreciate assistance please.

    Thanks.

    :)

while connecting to wifi it is connecting but taking different Ip which is not use...how i can i resolve this problem

In your router you can reserve an IP address for your various connected devices. Simply reserve an IP address for your phone. If you are not sure how to do this, consult the user guide of the router.

    Connecting to WiFi

    Hi,
    1. Are you saying you have recently upgraded to the Creator's build and the problem started then?
    2. What does the System Tray network icon look like?
    3. If you rt click it, click Troubleshoot... what do you see? Please post a screenshot.
    4. Does your Aspire PC connect ok via ethernet?
    5. Please post a screenshot like this:

    Connecting to WiFi [IMG]

To post a screenshot please use the Insert Image icon above your post to the left of the video icon. Thanks.

    6. Check the Wifi tile in Action Centre.
Is Wifi on (typically darker) and Airplane off?

    7. Have you tried using a system restore point prior to when this occurred?

Note sometimes a driver update can be problematic, and it's necessary to use an older driver. You may get different driver versions when you upgrade Windows.

    Using my desktop (Win7-64)
Many thanks for assistance. Sorry for my delay in replying.

Cannot forward screenshot as I have no wifi for the laptop. I could not see a system restore only a reset. This I did. Still no wifi.

Wifi is showing in Action Centre with Airplane off. I am able to connect with LAN

Can you save it to a USB on the laptop to get it across to the desktop?

    Again, many thanks.

Tried right clicking system. Doesn't look like your example. Will try tomorrow.

    Noting your comment:
I suspect you either don't know how to use a restore point or haven't researched it... so here's one way.

When you are booted normally type
    System Restore
    in Cortana's search field.
    Click Create Restore Point.

    You should see

    Connecting to WiFi [IMG]

Click System Restore and you should see

    Connecting to WiFi [IMG]

    - where you can go on to choose a restore point.
(This has been similar from Windows XP)

Note: this only applies if you enabled System restore in Win 10 since the last major build upgrade (else it's off).

You can also consult the extensive Tutorial section for such things:
System Restore Windows 10 Performance Maintenance Tutorials

However, you say you have done a much more drastic reset, so previous restore points, if any, will have been deleted.

    Many thanks again.

As you might have gathered by now I usually use my win 7 desktop! My wife uses the Acer for viewing Japanese videos. I rarely use the HP laptop. Win10 is not my preferred OS. I regret taking up the free offer for Win 10 but I am where I am.

    Back to wifi:

I right clicked the wifi icon in system tray which opened menu: " Windows network diagnostics - what type of problems are you having?"

I then find that internet is now connected!

Many thanks for your perseverance. I will come back should the problem appear again.

Good. You may have guessed what MS's strategy is- to keep us alert and attentive by continually tweaking things we're familiar with.. until we are either thoroughly confused, frustrated, or rendered punch drunk and incapable of complaining or simply dependent on anti-depressants.

I just discovered that even the brightness button in the Action Centre has changed from %ge to 5 varying steps from Darkest to Brightest. And I'm stil using the creator's upgrade -not the next build, which is almost out. Now where were those pills?

Anyway, you're doing well- my parents have never touched a PC and never could (90s).
