Windows 10: Connection Issues after Updates

After substantial Windows Updates I routinelyalmost always get a issue upon my next startup. Several programs I use will be unable to connect. These programs include Steam, Discord and Glyph a game launcher. It can also affect my web browser, giving me a dns_probe_finished_nxdomain error code. While these issues happen with frustrating regularity, the programs it happens to is unpredictable, usually affecting 2+ of the four listed above, for example.


Following the recommendations of more fix-it-yourself guides than I would like to admit reading, I have found a reliablebut not 100% fix for after this occurs. This is to: use the ipconfig renew, release and flushdns in command prompt, along with netsh winsock reset. This is followed by the required computer reset.


Is there a way to prevent this issue from occurring when a windows update takes place? The amount of time it eats up fixing things that break after a update intended to keep my system healthy is starting to become a chore.

• What is the Version and Build of Windows 10 currently installed? (Type
  winver in Windows search/Run command)

• What is the make and model of the PC?
  

• Are you aware of any changes on the PC prior to this issue?

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

If your wireless router has a built in firewall maybe it's somehow set to block the ports that Windows updates use?

I'd also suggest if it works with it being directly connected then you could try resetting your router to see if this fixes the issue.
