    Constant DPC_Watchdog_Violation BSOD, Frequent Freezes

For some reason, my computer recently started experiencing DPC_Watchdog_Violation BSODs but could not create dump files.

My Computer would also experience screen freezes that would leave my mouse still moving for a little while. Sometimes, during these freezes, my audio will also briefly continue without any issue. When these occur, I am forced to manually shut off my computer.

I tried Windows Memory Diagnostic, chkdsk /r /f, DISM, SFC /scannow and they all only said that there was no issue.

I double checked and most of my major drivers are up to date and my BIOS is the most recent one.

I'm fairly confident that my issues are hardware related, but I am unable to narrow down the issue.

My computer had some WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR BSODs in the past, but it disappeared, and I had no BSODs for a few weeks after I updated my BIOS and drivers until the DPC BSODs and freezes started occurring.

    Any assistance would great appreciated.

Since no dump files were generated, I have included the event logs from my event view along with my system information and reliability history.

  2. Random Freezes and BSOD (DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION)

    Hello Matt,

I regret for the inconvenience you are facing with DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION on your system. We will help you with this issue.

I suggest you to unplug all external devices connected to the system and restart the system to check if the issue persists.

Sometimes new hardware can cause blue screen errors. Since you recently added new hardware to your computer, shut down your system, unplug the new hardware, and then restart to check the status.

Many blue screen errors can be resolved by making sure that Windows is up to date. In the search box on the taskbar, enter Windows Update, select Windows Update. On the Windows Update page, select Check for updates.

I suggest you to Run System Maintenance Troubleshooter
    and check if it helps:

System Maintenance troubleshooter finds and clean up unused files and shortcuts and performs maintenance tasks.

    Follow the steps given below:

    Hi Darry,

User Profile corruption is one of the possible reasons why you are experiencing constant BSOD's on your computer. You mentioned that you ran the
System File Checker (SFC) tool, but is still getting a stop code. To further troubleshoot the issue, we suggest that you create a new User Profile and check if the issue persists.

    • Select Family & other people.
    • Select the Add someone else to this PC tab.
