constant read-access to my extern HDD - is it Windows 10?

I have a 4Tbyte external hard drive (USB3) and when it is connected, it constantly flashes as there is "something" that will read at all times. How do I find out what program/service is doing this?It is NOT virus killer, defragmentation or debugging (the one in Windows).
As seen in the picture, (DISK 4), it does it even if I remove the drive letter (used to be Hconstant read-access to my extern HDD - is it Windows 10? :), so it is not something to do with logical driveletters, I think.Only process that has constant access to HD in the job list is the systemfile called (ntoskrnl.exe) and it is quite low, but it is there. According to performance measurement, is read with 15-17 kb / s, so it's very slow, whatever it is. When I read / write to the disk myself, it runs at full speed, so it's not the disc itself that is blunt.I have left it turned on to see if it stops, but now it has been lit for 26 hours and there is constant access to it. What can it be?

It started after one of the windows updates, and now my extern HDD will not go in sleep-mode anymore because of this. How do I stop this?

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

constant read-access to my extern HDD - is it Windows 10?

    external HDD

    Hi,

Usually, this problem occur due to software incompatibility or corrupted USB drivers. For us to better assist you, we would like to clarify the following:

    • Have you made any recent changes on your computer prior to the issue?
    • Which driver did you uninstall? Have you reinstall the driver? If yes, how did you reinstall the driver?
    • Have you check if the external HDD is visible in Device Manager?

If the issue still persists after uninstalling some games, we suggest that you run the troubleshooter for hardware and devices. If you're using the latest Windows 10 version, follow these steps on how to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter:

    • Click the Start button and select the Settings
      icon.
    • Choose Update & Security from the list.
    • Click Troubleshoot in the left pane of the window.
    • Under Find and fix other problems, select Hardware and Devices and click
      Run the troubleshooter.

We're looking forward to your reply.
