    What is the exact error message while you try to open the file?

    I suggest you to refer to the link to install the latest version of Java:

    http://www.java.com/en/

    Let us know the status, we are glad to assist you further.

    But, beforehand, If you have installed Java Web Start, then you need to set it as the Default for JNLP files.

    Try: "Start Button" > "Settings" > "System" > "Default Apps" (Scroll to the bottom of the right-hand pane) > "Choose default applications by file type" and scroll down to JNLP and set the app by clicking on the icon to reveal the options.

    Or, in order to bypass this, In the Java Control Panel, click on the Java tab.

    - click the security tab

    - add Honte. The Best Apps and Games Collection with Reviews to the exception list

    - hit apply & try run the jnlp file again

    jnlp files openin problem

    jnlp files are not assosiated with java tm launcher which is not listed in default apps, instead there is only MS explorer and no choice

    Please help to resolve the issue

    A jnlp file is a Java Network Launch Protocol file

    can you please explain further, where you got this file and where it is located on your PC

    Generally, you are not meant to open that file, it enables a Java application to be launched on a client desktop by using resources that are hosted on a remote web server
