Windows 10: Contacts synching

Hi, when I changed Android phones recently, and cleared the old one ready to pass on to a friend, I deleted the contacts without realizing that it would delete them from Google completely - so I have lost the vast majority 40 accumulated years worth.


Because quite a few 'phone' contacts remained on there I didn't realize for over a month, so I can't restore from Google.


However I discovered to my joy that for some reason all the contacts remained on my desktop in the 'People' App, despite being set to synch with Google. But you can't export them from there in any way to secure them, in say a csv file, or in the old school 'Contacts' folder even.


They don't appear in my online Microsoft Account from where I could export them because although my Google gmail address/account is associated with my Microsoft Account on my desktop, it isn't on the online account, where only my main email appears!


Does anyone know how I can get this last existing full copy of my contacts from the unaccessible store used by the People App to my Google account so that it will form the basis for future synching? Or just how to save it to a file.


I'm really worried that a synch will soon overwrite it with the rag tag few bits left in my Google account.

Deleting contacts from Windows 10


When you say Windows Mail Live are you referring to Mail app or Windows Live Mail?

I suggest you to try the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Open Windows Live Mail.
• Press Ctrl + 3 using your keyboard. Right-click on the contact to delete it if it is a single contact.
• Highlight all contacts by pressing Ctrl + A.
• Click Delete located on the Ribbon bar.
• Click OK when you see the message These contacts will also be deleted from Hotmail, Messenger, and other Windows Live services.

After following the steps above, all your contacts that you have manually added to your account will be deleted however, contacts coming from third-party sites such as Facebook will not be deleted unless you remove Facebook from your account.

For Mail app:

Open People app then delete the contact.

windows calendar is not synching

If the Calendar is not synching in PC I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps you.

Let's try the below steps and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Step 1: I suggest you to run the
Troubleshooter for Windows App and see if it helps to resolve the issue.

Step 2: If the issue persists, then I suggest you to
remove and reconfigure the account back in the Mail app.


Reconfiguring the account should force it to sync again and resolve the issue.

Synching Contact Information

Can't find the default location on our Vista PC for the contact information from my BlackJack. Not sure where information is being synched to on computer. Any suggestions?
