Windows 10: correct bitlocker recovery key and factory reset failing to work

Ive been trying to do a factory image on new dell pc

When starting factory restore I enter bitlocker key and it immediately fails. Ive tried 3 times. I scanned hardware an repair software. I dont understand ehy its failing. Thanks

The system might be rejecting the incorrect BitLocker recovery key. Check this
article for tips to find your BitLocker recovery key. If you want to reset your Surface device, I would
suggest trying the refresh option first. Refreshing your Surface reinstalls Windows and keeps your personal files, settings, apps that came installed on your Surface, and apps that you installed from Microsoft Store. Here are the steps:

1. Follow the instructions on this link to download a recovery image for your Surface device.
2. Shut down your Surface and plug it in so you don’t run out of power during the refresh.
3. Insert the USB recovery drive into the USB port.
4. Press and hold the volume-down button while you press and release the power button. When the Surface logo appears, release the volume-down button.
5. When prompted, select the language and keyboard layout you want.
6. Select Troubleshoot > Refresh your PC, and select the operating system you want to refresh.
7. On the Refresh your PC screen, select Next >
   Refresh.
8. Surface restarts and the Surface logo appears during the refresh process (this can take several minutes).

My Microsoft surface windows rt 8.1 was functioning normally I shut it down as usual the following day when I restarted it requested Bitlocker recovery key.I entered the key the surface requests my email password.If input the password end of story it fails
to restart.I have tried restoring to factory reset still same results it says it cant reformat.What else can I do to make my tablet work again

 

Entering correct BitLocker recovery key results in 'Failed to unlock with this recovery key'

My recovery codes are stored with Microsoft, and I got my other four installed drives recovered perfectly the first time through, but my operating system drive (C is not able to recognize the correct recovery key.

I can see the code, enter the code, but sadly receive 'Failed to unlock with this recovery key'. Again, I had four successes with other drives - it's just this one - and happens to be my C:, which stops everything else and won't let Windows run, nor even
repair/restore itself in Bitlocker (Factory Reset fails with error code 0x80070057).

Anyone else run into this?
