Windows 10: Corrupted zip archive related to Microsoft Edge

Hello,I get the above error message relating to a Microsoft edge extension when doing a startup antivirus scan in Norton 360, before and soon after doing a clean reinstallation of windows 11. I am attaching a screenshot. Does anyone know if this is actually a problem or can I just ignore it?Norton does not find any viruses but could Norton be wrong?Any help appreciated.Jonathan

Corrupted file RAR

If the archive has been created using WinRAR, why don't you try WinRAR itself? It has a built-in repair feature for repairing corrupted archive (ZIP as well as RAR). Follow the steps given below:

• Open WinRAR application in your system.
• Now click on File tab > Open or simply press Ctrl+O.
• A small window "Find Archive" will pop up. Locate the corrupt RAR archive from your system directory and select it.
• Now click Open button.
• Click Tools tab > Repair archive or simply press Alt+R.
• Again a small window "Repairing File name.rar" will pop up.
• Now click Browse to select a location to save the repaired archive.
• Check the box "Treat the corrupt archive as RAR" and click OK.
• WinRAR will start repairing of corrupt RAR archive. Once it gets completed click Close.

I hope the above steps will help you repair the corrupted RAR archive.

Problems with Microsoft Edge in Windows 10

This issue might occur due to some corruption with the Microsoft Edge.

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Try restarting Microsoft Edge Browser.

Please follow the steps below to restart Microsoft Edge:

• 
  Open Task Manager.
  
• 
  Right click on Microsoft Edge.
  
• 
  From the jump menu click on go to details.
  
• 
  Select microsoftedge.exe and click end task.
  
• 
  Select microsoftedgeCP.exe and click end task.
  
• 
  Restart your Computer.
  

If issue persist, I suggest you to follow method 2.

Method 2:DISM (Deployment Image Servicing and Management)

Run the Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) tool which fixes the Windows corruption error if there are any. Follow the steps:

• 
  Press Windows + X.
  
• 
  Click on Command Prompt (Admin).
  

Type the command DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and hit Enter

7 Zip or WinRAR?

The only thing that I don't like about 7-Zip is its Windows 95-vintage graphics. Fortunately, there's a solution for that: 7-Zip Theme Manager.

• Toolbar themes - change the look of the toolbar in 7-Zip.
• Filetype themes - change the Windows icons for archive files.
• 90 toolbar themes and 22 filetype themes to choose from.
• Changing the SFX-icon (self-extracting archive) is now possible.

Be sure to grab the 2.1.1. Hotfix to mod any version of 7-Zip from 9.23 to the present release (15.12 as of the time of this post).
