Windows 10: Cortana and Search not working

Hey! Im new to this website so sorry if I do anything wrong,

so my problem is, when i try to click cortana nothing opens and when i try to search nothing happens as well. I'm just clicking keys and it doesn't search. Any idea how I can fix this? Thanks

how can I search for files if I do not have an audio input device (ie microphone). all search icons have disappeared

Method one

Trouble shooting found no errors.

Method two

As I mentioned in the original post when Cortana went down so did "search" So there is no search box to enter "command Prompt" into. That having been said I found another method to access command prompt and ran the code you gave me.

Results Cortana and search are still not working, There is no search box. There is a cortana box with "ask me anything" in it but the input box will not take typing input nor does cortana respond to voice input. I do have the cortana circle next to ask
me anything and I also have the microphone box

I did try restoring to 12/26/15 this also did not help.

so as of today, still no search and no Cortana.

I also do not have the large Cortana box with the various icons.

Do I need to consider a reinstall of win 10. from the d drive\. I would hate to loose all my programs.

If you have turned off the telemetry info, along with went in to change Cortona from not communicating with Bing which is actually ran off of Yahoo's servers, it is not going to find anything.

Keep in mind that everything you search for on Cortona is being uploaded to Microsoft's servers and used to track what you are doing, so that they can refine the Boolean.
