    Cortana can no longer SMS from my Desktop?


    Hi,


    My current configuration is


    PC = Surface Pro 3 = Running Windows 10 1809


    Mobile = HP Elite X3 = Running Windows 10 mobile 1709


    I have always used my Surface PC to send SMS from my phone and used to have two options... however trying to SMS today... it appears I have no options!!


    In Cortana, I just typed "Text John" and Cortana replied "I'm sorry, I can't send message here. Try the Cortana app on your phone".


    Great. A broken feature. Anyway... I thought I would then turn on SMS Relay via Skype on my PC.. Anyway opening Skype on my PC (Version 8.34.0.81 and Application Version 14.34.81.0)… The option to link my HP Elite X3 to my phone is now gone under settings...


    How can I now send SMS from my Desktop as I'm fully invested in the Microsoft Ecosystem other than my wrist. My Band died a few months back.

    My Phone isn't compatible with Windows Mobile 10.

    Cortana start menu pushing send SMS


    I just received an Action Center notification for SMS with Cortana. Seems they're pushing a lot of their stuff lately. Just a couple days ago I had a Skype message too. I don't use either one, so I guess that's why the push. Got me. You can turn app suggestions off in settings, but they don't really bother me. Yet....

    Cortana can no longer SMS from my Desktop?

    Cortana Notebook

    In order to enable the Notebook icon in Cortana, I suggest you to check if you have enabled Cortana.

    To enable Cortana, please follow the steps below:

    • Go to Cortana.
    • Go to Settings.
    • Turn on “Cortana can give you suggestions, ideas, reminders, alerts”.
