    CORTANA ISSUE

Cortana when opened will work for a few seconds and then freezes and closes itself. In the task manager, Cortana will be in a suspended state and then wakes up once clicked but will return to its suspended state once it closes.

I have tried many methods to solve this myself such as scanning for issues using cmd and reinstalling Cortana through powershell but it still doesn't work. If I make another account Cortana will work there but not on the current account I am using which is an Administrator account.

I haven't updated to the new Windows 10, version 2004.

    SEARCH BAR ISSUE

The search bar functions properly except when the searched option is opened. For example, if I search for "cmd" in the search bar and then press enter once the result is shown, it will open cmd but also keep the search open.

Again this issue is only present on the current account I am using and the search bar seems to work fine on any other account.

Any way to fix this? I have tried the "Get Help" app by Microsoft but it didn't help me at all and at the end I was recommended to reinstall windows which I would like to avoid.

    Thanks in advance.

    :)

  2. cortana won`t talk to me

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

It's unfortunate that you are facing this issue. Let me assist you to resolve the issue.

I appreciate if you could answer few questions to narrow down the issue and to provide you better assistance.

    • Check and verify if Cortana is activated?
    • Does Cortana search and gives any output/result on screen?
    • Is the Language and region settings set to valid value?
    • Check and verify if Cortana available in your region?
    Method 1:

I suggest you to try to turn Cortana off and then try turning it on back and check if she talks. Refer to the steps below to turn Off and On Cortana:

    • Open Cortana.
    • Click the hamburger button in the top left of the window.
    • Go to Settings and click on off.
    • Follow the same steps to turn it on.

Typing more than 2 letters in my Cortana search bar or the Settings app search bar crashes and closes itself.

I wanted to search for some settings, but both ways crash the app I'm using. If I wanted to search up some special item in cortana, I'd be normally unable to access it, because the entire search menu will just freeze and close shortly after 2 keyboard
keys. The same goes for the Settings app, I can still navigate through the menus, but putting in more than 2 symbols in the search bar crashes the entire app.
