Windows 10: Cortana has trouble coming with any results

Hello, fellow users ! First time here.

So when I initially installed W10 (fresh install) I made use of some tools to deactivate all the windows10 privacy bs we all know and love. So I disabled Cortana the normal way, or so I think.

I wanted to try her out today and I'm facing some problems. So I have activated her as shown in the many guides the internet has to offer, but she's having problems with voice processing :

And this is after typing the same thing in Cortana's box (btw if anyone knows how to change it to °C and km/h that would be great):




And this is what happens when I ask her to open Google Chrome :



I get this message or a variant whenever I ask something. It used to come only after internet-related queries but now I just comes all the time.

I went from a Local account to a Microsoft account to be able to use her and now I have to login whenever I start the computer which I don't like (it's a desktop in my room). I tried to go to the netplwiz.exe program and uncheck "Users must enter a password..." and it worked but I still have to enter a password.

So all I'm asking is : what do I have to do to get Cortana working?
I'm contemplating reinstalling w10 to have a fresh start because this just looks like too much stupid settings not working together.

Hello,

So I have been using Cortana for ages and just recently I don't know what happened but Cortana has disappeared. It says that Cortana is running but the microphone button or anything else related to Cortana is not working. And when I try to search stuff up
from the search bar it doesn't come up with any results from the internet.

How do I add Cortana's "Remind Me" to Outlook.com calendar?

Cortana's remind me has more functionality then what's available on Outlook.com. As a result, these reminders will NOT sync to Outlook.com. Hopefully this will change in the future as Cortana comes to more of Microsoft's platforms.

 

Hi, first as you've discovered, altering settings esp. so-called 'privacy' can have untoward effects.
I don't know how you did that, but you could try a couple of tools
Spybot Anti-beacon and O&O Shutup
and see if you can use these to undo any settings remaining.

Please check the speech language used in Cortana Settings (gear icon on left in Cortana, scroll down).

Note: if you still have difficulty, you may prefer an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all programs, units, and most settings to a clean install.

 

I ended up reseting the whole system (I have an SSD with windows and all the data is somwhere else so it's cool and easy) and she works like a charm right now.
Thanks for trying to help ! I have to say I have no patience with "hidden" settings that can take days to find if you even ever find them. And I had some problems with chrome too so now everything is fine *Smile
