Windows 10: Cortana hears me but disappears all of a sudden

After the last update in october I can say "hey Cortana" and she will pop up and display that she is listening, then she just terminates. I know she hears me because she is logging what i say on the microsoft site. I've tried reinstalling with the powershell command, I've tried SFC with no success, it doesn't show any errors, I've tried windows search troubleshooter and it doesn't find anything wrong. I have created a new user profile to test it and she works fine on that profile. Has anyone figured out what is causing this? I wish there was a way to uninstall her cleanly and reinstall her.

I suggest you enable settings in the Playback Devices and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

• Right click on the speaker icon on your taskbar.
• Select Playback Devices.
• Click on the Playback Devices and right click on the
  Speakers/Headphones.
• Check mark on the Show Disabled Devices and
  Show Disconnected Devices.

If the issue persists the follow the below step.

Step 2:
