Windows 10: Cortana Lost

I have lost cortana. How can I get it back?

Cortana Notebook

In order to enable the Notebook icon in Cortana, I suggest you to check if you have enabled Cortana.

To enable Cortana, please follow the steps below:

• Go to Cortana.
• Go to Settings.
• Turn on “Cortana can give you suggestions, ideas, reminders, alerts”.

Lost Cortana tile

I would suggest you perform the steps listed below and check if the issue is resolved:

• Click on the Start Menu, locate and select the
  Notebook icon located on the left navigation pane below the Settings icon.
• Once the pop-up opens, click on “Settings”.
• Then locate “Hey Cortana” and turn it “On"
• Restart the system and check if the issue resolves.

Lost Cortana tile

What exactly are you trying to do?

Method 1: If you want Cortana on the Start Screen, follow the steps below.

• If you want to Pin it to Start screen.
• Search for Cortana app and right click on it to Pin to Start or Taskbar.

If the issue persist I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if that helps.

Method 2: System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

Note: Steps mentioned for Windows 8/8.1, will work fine with Windows 10.
