Cortana no longer sees INSTEON devices

I have my INSTEON account connected to Cortana. It has worked great for a long time. Lately, Cortana can no longer control devices. she responds that "You don't have any devices I can control"

I am able to control the INSTEON devices with Alexa.

I have disconnected and reconnected the INSTEON a number of times. but I still get the same response.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

    :)

  2. Cortana Connected Home - Insteon skill - hubs, devices, features, and commands.

Hi Derek, I'm the PM for Cortana Connected Home. Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. We're not able to repro the same issue (where Cortana can't find any of your Insteon devices and so replies with the "how to get set up" error) and want to
investigate why it isn't working for you. Can you try issuing a voice command on your Invoke to control your Insteon lights/devices, and submit feedback using the history feed so we can look up logs?

    Detailed steps:

    • Make sure Insteon is connected to Cortana in the Connected Home section of the Notebook
    • Issue a voice command to the Invoke controlling those devices
    • Go to any Cortana app, go to the menu --> devices --> click on your Invoke. You should see the history of your voice commands.
    • Click the expando arrow and click "Not what I was hoping for" --> "Answer was incorrect" and fill in the form with "DerekRomano: Can't control Insteon devices" so we can find the feedback.

Also, a few more questions: do you have any other smart home devices/hubs you've tried connecting to Cortana and commanding? If not, no worries, just trying to see if it's Insteon-specific or not.

Let me know once you've submitted the feedback or if you have any more questions.

Hi Joe, I'm the PM for Cortana Connected Home. Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. Not sure if you saw my reply to Derek, but we're not able to repro the Insteon issue (where Cortana can't find any of your Insteon devices and so replies with

    Detailed steps:

    • Make sure Insteon is connected to Cortana in the Connected Home section of the Notebook
    • Issue a voice command to the Invoke controlling those devices ("turn on the lights")
    • Go to any Cortana app, go to the menu --> devices --> click on your Invoke. You should see the history of your voice commands.

  4. Cortana no longer sees INSTEON devices

Cortana Connected Home - Insteon skill - hubs, devices, features, and commands.

After looking at my existing Insteon configuration and what Cortana has listed under devices in the notebook, I can see there is actually an outlet listed that I removed about a month ago still.

Only thing I could see in my configuration of Insteon, that most probably don't, is I have Insteon Smart LED Bulbs for my recessed lights and there are a lot of them 25...each one of those are their own device and I notice even in the insteon app, while
they are instant to respond to command, sometime the status reporting of the state of the bulb is slow or times out and the fact that I have so many of them when you scanning "updating devices" I wonder if its not waiting long enough to get through them all.
