Windows 10: Cortana not responding after 20H2 update.

My computer wanted to update last night and I let it. Turning on the computer today I find my desktop changed, the wrong audio drivers being used and all kinds of little annoyances, fine whatever. Microsoft will be microsoft.

But I go to set timers in Cortana and she does not respond. Settings are set to allow speech recognition and every time I just get a response telling me to turn speech recognition on.

On top of that all my weekly reminders and schedule things are simply gone. I used that feature heavily and it seems like it was wiped. Any idea how to get cortana and if possible all my reminders back?

EDIT: Just to specify, I confirmed my mic is working already.

Cortana won't respond to commands.

• Have you tried installing any pending updates on your device?
  
  Yes. I've installed all available updates from MS.
• What are the steps have you done so far to isolate the issue?
  
  I've run the troubleshooter. I've verified that the mic works for all other apps.
• Have you tried restarting your device? By simply restarting your device or PC can resolve the issue.
  
  I've restarted many times. The problem has been persistent for months.
  
  When I say, 'Hey Cortana' it initially responds. The circle starts turning as if waiting for my command. But it doesn't respond to any further commands.
  
  The microphone is obviously working because Cortana hears the "Hey Cortana" command but does not respond to any further voice commands. There's no indication from the graph that Cortana hears anything after the initial "Hey Cortana" command.

Meanwhile, we recommend that you restart your Cortana from its Settings page. Disable Cortana and its function, then re-enable it again to check if will help you to make it work.

• Find Cortana under Processes.
