Windows 10: cortana/search not working?!?!

just done a fresh install with the latest iso available. here it is the problem using search/cortana... (honestly i didn't care in the past, so i don't it's a normal beahaviour)
-loggin in as administrator i can use the search and find settings like "system restore" or "personalize"
-loggin in as limited user, no matter if local account or microsoft account, i can't search for settings and i get the message "incomplete" on top of the window... but all documents, images, start menu entries, etc. are showed perfectly.
i googled around, but i couldn't find what happens to me. solutions are for completely broken search service. even create a new account or recreate the index didn't work....
is it normal for limited users?!? bug?!? i don't want reinstall again *Biggrin

Is BING really still just in testing mode on my Windows 8.1 smartphone?

You are using Cortana. You turned it on, and any Bing search from anywhere in Windows Phone (IE or the search button) goes to the phone's search function. Because you have Cortana on, you get the Cortana UI for search.

If you don't want to use Cortana, turn off Cortana in Settings>swipe left>Cortana and you'll get the normal Bing interface when you search.

Is Cortana turned on in Settings?

You can check by going:

Start -> Settings -> Search 'Cortana' in the search bar -> Cortana & Search Settings -> Then the Cortana menu should pop up so you can turn Cortana on.

 

Hi, I have a limited user, local account, set up after my admin user. Search in settings works for both. Search is set up the same for both, the same number of items indexed.

Try going to Control Panel, Indexing Options in your limited account and see if the number of items indexed increases.

Are the search settings the same in both accounts?

as i said i don't want wast another two days to reinstalling and recunfiguring the system so i'll wait for updates...

 

I use English UK, and the search works.. it's a trial to change the language with several settings and downloads.

You haven't said what language you have selected, or responded specifically to my suggestion, so I'll leave it with you. Good luck.

 

now working... so it took around four days to complete the indexing, wasn't enough leaving the pc in idle for a couple of hours after the installations... really strange, but luckily i didn't reinstall *Biggrin
