Windows 10: Cortana

Hello,


I'm running windows 10 on my new laptop and I hadn't turned on cortana for a while. I was using the normal search fine and didn't feel the need to use cortana. Recently though I decided out of curiosity to try it. Unfortunately it doesn't work for speech, I can't get rid of its annoying prompts when I want to search for something and when I navigate away from the search box it won't go away unlike literally every other thing in windows, so I have to click the cortana logo again to get it to go away every time. Worst of all this is I can't turn the stupid thing off. I can't go back to normal search so I'm left with a bad version. Can anyone please help?

Cortana Notebook

In order to enable the Notebook icon in Cortana, I suggest you to check if you have enabled Cortana.

To enable Cortana, please follow the steps below:

• Go to Cortana.
• Go to Settings.
• Turn on “Cortana can give you suggestions, ideas, reminders, alerts”.

Cortana stopped showing my calendar events on cortana home

I suggest you to try to turn Cortana off and then try turning it on back and check. Refer to the steps below to turn Off and On Cortana:

• Open Cortana.
• Click the hamburger button in the top left of the window.
• Go to settings and click on off.
• Follow the same steps to turn it on.
• Check if issue persists.
