cortina app,

My Cortina app on my laptop cant hear me. And its not there when I got to microphone.. How do I add to list of apps to use my mike. Thank you.

I understand the inconvenience you are facing. I will certainly help you with this. I appreciate if you could answer few questions to narrow down the issue and to provide you better assistance.

• Check and verify if Cortana is activated?
• Does Cortana search and gives any output/result on screen?
• Are your Language and region settings set to valid value?
• Check and verify if Cortana available in your region?

I suggest you to try the below given method and check if issue persist.

Method 1:

I suggest you to try to turn Cortana off and then try turning it on back and check if she talks. Refer to the steps below to turn Off and On Cortana:

• Open Cortana.
• Click the hamburger button in the top left of the window.
• Go to Settings and click on off.
• Follow the same steps to turn it on.
• Check if issue persists.

Method 2:

You may also update the Audio driver from Device Manager manually and check if this helps.

• Press (Windows key + X) and click on “Device Manager”.
• Expand “Audio input and output” & “Sound, video and Game controller”.
• Right click on the drivers and select “Update Driver Software”. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

(Corrupted Cortina App Stuck within Windows 10 Start Menu)


Shawn, or anyone in this Windows 10 Great Forum regarding Apps, your assistance is needed....

I been going nuts here for 2 week

Regarding Windows Start Menu

I remove Cortina completely but now I have a corrupted listing within the start menu under all apps, and now Other and just below there is @(Microsoft.Cortina bla bla bla dead listing and icon

Is there a way to zap it remove this dead listing within Windows 10 Start Menu via a windows registry tweak or something

FYI: I ran very deep commands with install_wim_tweak and no luck at this time to know this dead icon listing within the current Windows 10 Menu *Sad
