    Hello, Using a USB to UART Bridge with CP2102 chipset on Windows 10 Home Version 10.0.19043 Build 19043. Installed CP210x 10.1.10 driver. VID_10C4&PID_EA60 Upon installing the device, the Add Hardware Wizard states: The following hardware was installed: Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge. The software for this device in now installed, but may not work correctly. This device cannot start. Code 10 From the setupapi.dev file, I find this section of interest in the log: ! dvi: Device class {4d36e978-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} is not configurable. dvi: Class GUID of device changed to: {

    Windows 10 + CP210x USB to UART Bridge VCP Drivers compatibility?

    Before I migrate from Win 8.1 to 10, I would like to know if CP210x virtual usb-uart drivers will still work in new Windows? Its essential since my Davis weather station uses these drivers to communicate via usb-port. Any info on this? Thx in advance.

    I can confirm, the SILabs CP210x driver definitely does not work in Windows 10. I'm an embedded systems developer using this chip as the serial console for our SBC, and Windows 10 definitely does not recognize the device.

    Crying shame really. We just switched to the SILabs solution *because* it worked in Windows 8.

    I understand your inconvenience. We are here to assist you.

    I suggest you install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if it helps. Follow the steps provided below.

    • Download the drivers from the manufacturer’s website.
    • Right-click on the installer and click on "Properties".
    • Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for” and select previous Operating System from the drop down.
    • Click on ‘Apply’ and click ‘OK’ and run the file to install it.
