Windows 10: Crashing with high RAM usage by taskhostw.exe

Relatively commonly, taskhostw.exe (Host Process for Windows Tasks) ends up using almost all my RAM even when idle. If I do not restart my computer, eventually everything will crash and become unresponsive with unknown software errors being reported by most apps. Restarting solves the issue for the time being.




I have tried a full system virus scan, attempting a repair using DISM, and even a complete system reset, but nothing seems to solve it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

@PolarNettles: yes I have a Gigabyte Z170x Gaming-3 Mainboard with Killer E2200 ethernet controller. Are there known issues with this controller?

@AddRAM: RAMMap did nothing as I emptied all the lists. At first boot RAM usage is normal, but when I work or play some time it kinda stacks up the RAM. Snip of the resource monitor

but when i run games that uses 1gb or more ram my ram usage becomes 90-96 and the computer starts lagging.

most of the time i have ram usage like 40-60, but all of the processes are using like 400 mb and i have 4gb ram.
