Create .bat File to Append Substring to Drag & Dropped Filenames

I have cross posted this question on another forum. Please check there first to ensure this question hasn't already been answered.I have been attempting to come up with a way to be able to drag and drop a file to append 3 letters to it after a space. The issue is that the extent of my programming knowledge lies in VBA and not much else. While I could probably make it work in VBA, I'd prefer to not require the application to be open when it's needed - which leads me to the usage of a .bat file. The following are examples of what I was thinking of before and after file names. It would need to

  2. Drag and Drop

    Hi Charles,

the steps you suggested didn't work for me but, when pressing the escape key it somehow expanded the drive and by using drag and drop to the single file in the list worked.

In the past I could drag and drop multiple folders onto the drive on the network computer(s). Doing it on individual folders will take far too long and time consuming and is not an option.

Microsoft should be able to identify what is blocking it and issue a fix.

My machine is multi boot so tomorrow I will try with Windows 7.

    Many thanks for your help,

How to Make Windows 10 Bat File to Bulk Rename Filenames in txt file

Hello, Just wondering if anyone can help me.

I would like to create a bat file that will run in windows 10 that can duplicate one jpeg image file ( test.jpg. )
to a list of filenames ( one per line ) found in a text file ( test.txt )
This means if i had a list of 100 image filenames or more in a text file it would duplicate the single image file 100 times and rename them based on the filenames within the text file.

an example of the filenames in text file
    chair.jpg
    house.jpg
    tree.jpg

    Thank you.
