I am certain this has been covered somewhere, but can't find it....maybe could be added to restore point tutorials section..

How to schedule an automatic restore point

My Windows 10 doesn't create restore points using the task scheduler like it is supposed to. I'm also not seeing anything under tasks for system restore (that might be the cause of the problem).

Can someone tell me how to create a task to create restore points in the task scheduler?

hi thanks it was missing is it rstrui.exe for the action ?

 

It says this with a parameter at the end, when I put it into CMD as admin, it creates a restore point.

%windir%\system32\srtasks.exe ExecuteScheduledSPPCreation

 

thanks seems to have been accepted ok, will monitor.....is there a way of changing the name of the created restore point ?

 

tried to run the task manually, right clicked and chose run, but just get task triggered followed by task failed, maybe can't run it this way....also how can I clear the task history...thanks again
