Windows 10: Creators edition -- Windows defender BROKEN !!!

I'm with everybody on this also that the interface is just horrible compared to what it was......Come on microsoft we are human beings not robots we like to have some nice visual stuff to look at instead of something that looks like a blank white piece of paper with some text on it.

You can still open the original Windows Defender Antivirus UI using either tutorial below. It does take around a minute or so for it to actually open though.

If you prefer the old green UI it's still there, though it takes about 45 seconds to open. Make a shortcut to:
"C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe"

 

Did not know that you could still get the old UI back.......Thanks everybody I will check it out!

I tried the shortcut option myself but I found invoking WD was failing every now and then.

 

I really wonder how the discussion went regarding the changes of Defender. "Double clicking is what people are used to when opening stuff, let's remove that and make everyone have to right click and chose open! Even if there's an exclamation mark!". I've said it before, the windows devs have a fetish for making everything more incremental. I think windows 10 is awesome, but there are so many things that required like 2 steps in windows 7/8 that now requires 5 steps.
