    Usually flushing the folder and turning off the Service, then back on and reboot helps. But you still end up with the stored profile can cause issues when your computer calls for them when you log in with a Live profile.

    Try switching to a local profile after turning off all of the switches in Settings Profile for updating the cloud servers. That may fix it.

    Still not working. I downloaded the iso file and put it on a DVD. I think it's time for reinstallation.

    I tried the reinstallation, but the problem persists.

    I'd like to reset Windows 10 to its original state when I upgraded from Windows 7 last summer. Which reset option would I use to do that?

    You have to disable your Live profile before you do the repair. Otherwise it will just keep installing the messed up Roaming Profile on Microsoft's servers.

    I apologize for being thick about this, but how do I disable my live profile?

    So I disable the live profile and then try the repair installation again?

    Problem solved. I'm embarrassed I didn't see this simple solution before, but for the benefit of others, here's the solution: Go to Advanced Sharing Settings > All Networks, and Turn off password protected sharing. *Redface
