    I received a new Acer laptop last week. I decided to install a fresh version of Windows 10 using the medica creation tool and a USB. After successfully doing this and installing available updates I found the laptop started to crash with a BSoD and either the CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED or KERNEL_INPAGE_DATA_ERROR messages.


    Afer some research online, I believed the problem may have been the recent cumulative update from Windows 2020-03 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1909 for x64-based Systems KB4554364. I reinstalled Windows 10 again using the MCT and decided not to allow automatic updates to avoid this cumulative update.


    I did however want to update drivers. I downloaded an Intel update assistant to scan and download relevant updates, specifically graphic drivers. After the driver update, which enabled sleep mode this wasn't available eith the basic Microsoft driver, the CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED error returned after the first attempt at putting the laptop to sleep.


    The error can therefore be unrelated to the cumulative update. How can it be that a fresh install of Windows 10 and a few driver updates can produce such a fundamental and intrusive recurring error? I have rolled back the graphics driver do disable the sleep functionality.


    Some guidance as to what might be causing the error, and a way to go forward with my Windows experience I was previously an Apple user would be appreciated. Currently, I'm very frustrated and frankly astonished that my new laptop can be causing these issues so early.

    Critical Process Died on windows 10 setup


    Ive just opened event viewer as you suggested but I cant seem to find any error that says "critical process died"

    I have attached a screenshot of the event viewer. I have scrolled to the bottom to where it first booted up.

    Ive downloaded the software you sent the link for but I'm not sure how to use it as nothing shows up when I load it.
