Cryptographic Services taking up a lot of cpu and automatically starting up

I noticed my computer is slowing down in its performance so I check my task manager and found it was cryptographic services. I found a way to stop it, but randomly it will start up again and slow everything down, and even crash my computer depending on what I'm doing. I'm looking up videos guides about it and none of them tell me how to keep cryptographic services from starting up again. I have to constantly check every 10 minutes to turn it off again.

    Vista Automatic Updating Error

    Resolution Suggestion:

    # To resolve this problem, make sure that BITS and the Automatic Updates service are started..

A simple solution but one that works in most circumstances!

    1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

    2. In the list of services, right-click Automatic Updates, and then click Properties.

    3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then click Apply.

    4. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

    5. Right-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and then click Properties.

    6. In the Startup type list, click Manual, and then click Apply.

    7. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

Windows 10 updates automatically updating error code of 0x800705b4

    Hi,

Thanks for the update and response.

I suggest you to go to Windows services and restart the Cryptographic service and check if it helps. Follow the below steps to do so.

    Steps:-

    • Press Windows Key + R and type “services.msc” (without quotes)
    • Hit Enter.
    • Search for Cryptographic service in the list.
    • Right Click on it and stop it.
    • Again right click on it and start it.
Follow the same steps and restart the Background intelligent transfer services instead of Cryptographic services and check if it helps.

Hope this helps. Please do let us know if you need further assistance, we’ll be glad to assist you.
