Windows 10: CSR bluetooth skipping

Hi, I got a USB stick off amazon ( https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0126XU9CM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 )

Hardware ID:

USB\VID_0A12&PID_0001&REV_8891

It's identified as a Generic Bluetooth Radio in Win10.

However, I'm getting bad audio skipping. Tried disabling headset functionality. The headphones (Soundcore Life Q20) work flawlessly on other devices I have, including a win10 laptop with a realtek bluetooth stack, and my macbook pro. Audio is fine without bluetooth and I've tried some buffer underrun tools which don't show any buffer problems.

Any ideas on a better driver, or should I buy another USB one?

Try these steps from Johan van Mierlo

In the search type" Device manager" and open it.

Click on the small arrow next to either "Bluetooth" or "Universal Serial Bus controllers"

Right click on "CSR" and select Update Driver

Select" Browse my computer for driver update"

Select on bottom "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my Computer"

Select "Generic bluetooth Driver"

CSR v4.0 Bluetooth Dongle does not work on my Windows 10 computer

Try the following. I had the same issue. However each time I update my computer with a new insider update I have to repeat these steps.

• In the search type" Device manager" and open it.
• Click on the small arrow next to either "Bluetooth" or "Universal Serial Bus controllers"
• Right click on "CSR" and select Update Driver
• Select" Browse my computer for driver update"
• Select on bottom "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my Computer"
• Select "Generic bluetooth Driver"

This will fix it and you will be able to use your Bluetooth now with no other problems.

 

How to reinstall CSR Bluetooth

I read in the forum that if I uninstalled the CSR Bluetooth driver and rebooted, Windows would automatically reinstall it. I rebooted, and it did not reinstall. The Bluetooth icon is not in Device Manager. What should I do to reinstall?
