Windows 10: Ctrl+Alt-Del prevents RDP connection

    Ctrl+Alt-Del prevents RDP connection


    I want to be able to log in to a Home server from my remote Win10 machine.
    But RDP only goes so far and then just waits...
    When I check the server it is waiting for Ctrl+Alt-Del which I cannot send from the remote machine.
    Travelling soon so need to sort this out!
    Just to say that on another server RDP just takes me to the local login without requiring Ctril+Alt-Del so I am a bit surprised and foxed! Maybe I should switch off (if I can) the requirement for Ctrl+Alt-Del on the server but that seems drastic.

    Any hints please?

    As soon as I posted this and after a day trying to make things work today it logged in smoothly! No worries!

    Ctrl Alt Del, Vista

    The whole Ctrl+Shift+Esc should be used to get that crazy screen with those options and Ctrl+Alt+Del should bring up TM.

    On a domain you won't get Task Manager when you hit Ctrl+Alt+Del. You get a crazy screen with a bunch of options.

    Ctrl+Shift+Esc has always brought up just the Task Manager, even back to Windows XP days. You just weren't aware of it. *Wink Ctrl+Alt-Del prevents RDP connection ;)

    Go ahead, try it in Windows XP too.

    Depends on whether you have the Welcome Screen, or the Domain Logon screen at boot up.
