Windows 10: ctrl+r no longer working for refresh

both for google chrome and microsoft edge, all of a sudden, ctrl+r does not do anything. to refresh, i must use crtl+shift+r. it's just annoying, would appreciate any help, thanks

Thanks! *Smile Sounds fine (Ctrl+R as a 2nd way to do the same would be nice too).
IF you do not want to overburden the main window GUI with the extra Refresh button I suggest, Refresh could be added to the system menu in top left instead, and/or into Settings.
(such as add a button labeled "Refresh main tab" or similar text of your choosing to Settings)

Ctrl+F5 doesn't appear in the list of XP shortcuts. For F5 it says...

...as it does in the equivalent list for Windows 10, (with the addition of the 'Ctrl' version, which seems to do the same thing)

CTRL + R REMOVED SHORTCUT

But there is room for implementation on reverting to the old shortcut for all of my applications. It is stated on the link you posted Ctrl+R is refresh an active window, and yet it doesn't work. If you happen to use other applications that are work related
in my case CTRL + R, it is essential and now that it doesn't work means I cannot progress. There are other applications out there that you cannot customize preferences.
