Windows 10: Ctrl + space only works in windows applications.

I want to type a space if Ctrl + space is pressed I need this to run jump in minecraft, for exampleI have tested 3 keyboards on 3 PCs Windows 11 and 10 and on all of them have the same issue. On-screen keyboard also does not type a space if Ctrl + space is pressed.Power toys peek is disabled and one of the PCs has a fresh installation of windows, so I dont believe it's a program causing this issue.The only place where it works is in windows applications I.e., windows search, file explorer, notepad.This is driving me insane, thank you for any help or ideas of what could be causing this!

Ctrl+space suddenly stopped working in applications

Ctrl+space is a vital key in Emacs.

After starting my computer from hibernate sleep, Ctrl+space did not work any longer.

It appears as not being mapped at all.

It does not seem to change any input language, it does nothing.

A reboot did not help.

The on-screen keyboard does not work either, Ctrl+space is dead.

I can however remap Ctrl+space with PowerToys and thereby get this key to work, but this is just a work-around.

How do I see what Ctrl+space is mapped to, and how do I restore its mapping so that it reaches applications as before?

 

WIn + space stopped working for me...

While CTRL + win + Space or Shift + win + space do work. What is funny is that when i press win + space it works like I only pressed space.

Win button is working for sure, checked it

Languages list is showing when ctrl or shiift is additionally pressed

Any suggestions?

PowerToys new Peek function has default short cut set to Ctrl+Space. Change it and it should work again.
