Maybe this update is getting us ready for Patch Tuesday next week, when they'll patch this update.

What I don't get is how I'm still geting corrupted files thrugh sfc, even if Microsoft is patching Windows 10 as hell.

Must be something specific to your system otherwise everybody would have same problem. Clean install usually cures that.

  9. installed without any issues for me, still hasn't fixed my little bugs though

    Mail notifications still don't work
after boot brightness is on full, even though box says its at 25%, so have to click through it to get it back to normal

Minor things, but I keep hoping one of these updates will fix these

I get this point, but I don't think it shoud be a professional behavior for a company like Microsoft. I mean... this kind of errors are popping up really randomnly (on clean installs and on upgrade systems). System is running fine, but if you check sometimes, it shows corrupted files, and maybe after a few days, it doesn't. Which, I think, is what pisses a lot of people. And no, the answer can no be: do a clean install because ic can be your system problem. It's like say: someday, we'll have rain.

And finally, if the end solution to almst every single bug is to do a clean install, the whole Update/Upgrade thing is useless.

This is most of the reason why I'm going back to Windows 8.1 on my main laptop. More worrying to me than not knowing what these updates do (do they fix a bug or issue?) or having very limited control over these "service" updates - and don't get more wrong, I don't like that at all to put it gently - is what happens when it does do something unintended or unexpected? People talk about how a mistake could be made and pushed out and the effect is many PCs are possibly ruined/down or otherwise require money and time and aggravation to fix like it is probably very unlikely but this OS is brand new and already an update has caused problems by changing settings to default and did other unexpected things.

It's just a matter of time in my view before something more significant happens. I'd rather stick with an OS that I have some control over and where I'm given some explicit info about what will be done and why and that allows me to choose whether I want it done or not and I want that built in and part of the rationale of the OS. A buggy bland flat looking unpopular mobile device OS on my desktop computer I could maybe live with ... but no control over updates that do who knows what for me is a deal breaker, especially seeing it in practice so far.

If only Linux had decent hardware support I would switch at once. I'm so tired of installing "updates" on my system that change who knows what. Unfortunately if you're into multimedia (gaming, listening to music and watching movies) Linux is a no-go too because of it's lack of hardware support. E. g. my sound card works under Linux but working under Linux means sound comes out of the speakers. Of course there is absolutely no support for all the additional features my sound card offers. My Haupauge video capture card does not work at all under Linux, the SATA ports of my mainboard that are controlled by a Marvell chip do not work... That's why I'm stuck with the MS "we have done something to your computer but we wont tell you what" updates *Sad

Updated with no problems. Looked around didn't see anything so I assume it fixed a few issues. *Think
