Many users including me are having problems with Outlook 2010 due to Update KB3114409. This update needs to be removed to restore correct operation. Did Microsoft actually test this before release?

To be honest it's hard for MS to test every possible situation that might be effected with each update but I do understand your frustration.

  5. Yes, all previous updates were done. It finally finished though and all installed OK
Perhaps my ISP was having a bad day! I should have performed a speed test at the time of downloading the updates .. it may have shown I was restricted, possibly due to line issues (common in my part of the country)
Must admit I didn't think ANY country had slower ADSL speeds that South Africa! My Dad in the UK has a BT 8 Mbps connection, and never complains about MS updates taking a long time. But then again, he's 95 years old, so he probably wouldn't notice!

Running Winver command shows I am now on OS Build 10856.29

  6. Good to hear you got it in the end
How long did the download take?

Many places in the UK outside the big towns/cities have poor broadband, its just one of the sacrifices of living in a rural area (although they are improving that now)

I feel your pain though on the slowness, with more and more things being online, big tech firm just seem to assume everyone has unlimited super fast fibre *Sad

  7. Unfortunately I don't know. Whenever it's Win 10 update time I tend to just let it run its course, and I leave my PC unattended. It gives me time to do some shopping, or to nip off to my local Pub. When I get back home the update is then usually in the "restart PC" stage. I restart, let it runs its course, and have another beer, and then hope like hell that all will go without a hitch

I normally go and make a coffee by the time I get back all done ready for me to restart or put password in.
