Windows 10: Cumulative Update KB3197954 Windows 10 PC and Mobile build 14393.351

Updated Cumulative Update KB3197954 which installed fine. The only issue I experienced, so far, was ie11 would not load. A reset of ie11 fixed the issue.*Huh

 

Lenovo laptop W10 64bit on Ethernet. Screen showed boot now or boot later, I assume that KB3197954 downloaded and installed partly and should finish installing with the reboot. Booted to the Lenovo splash screen and sat there spinning for 6 hours. Powered down by holding pwr button. After a minute I pushed pwr button - camera light came on briefly and then turned off. Screen black w/ no sign that pwr is on. Pushed pwr button and probably the laptop pwr'd off. After a minute I pushed pwr button and Lenovo splash screen appeared with additional words below that said "Preparing Automatic repair". and the spinner was spinning. After a half hour of this I called my PC guy who said he will pick up the laptop on Sunday. This is essentially the same scenario that I suffered on this laptop putting on KB3194798 and KB3199209. Computer guy then said it was fixed but...... .
Before this latest the laptop was 1607 14393.321

Installed OK on Dell desktop W10 64bit . Now at 1607 14393.351

Yup, both on my desktop & laptop. Check the box to clean & the cleanup status bar goes to the very end & stays there. I left it for about 20 mins. or so but got impatient & cancelled it. Ran through the disk cleanup again & the 3.99 TB did not show up.

Definitely a bug - my HD is only 500 GB!

 

Again stuck at 99% and it's the forth cumulative update since anniversary update that gets stuck in downloading. What can I do?

 

This is the second cumulative update released by Microsoft this month which breaks Google toolbar's Search History and suggestions features in IE 11 under Windows 10. Microsoft, Please stop!!!

The offending updates are KB3197954, KB3194798 which must be removed to restore this feature.

P.S. KB Updates KB3185330, KB3192403, and KB3192391 break these same features in Windows 7.

 

The only bug I have encountered with this update, that I had to reactivate Windows manually. *Shock

Two computers, both updated fine, but on one when I woke up this morning the
monitor was set to PIP? Strange it must have affected something in the video. Dunno?

good news, glad it's back to normal!

 

Have had a similar problem with a recent update that was a slow download then always hung at 70%. Go to Windows Update Catalog. Download and install the update yourself. Worked for me.

 

This update installed in about 2.5 minutes with no problems on my SSD based laptop which is a bit longer than normal. Does it solve the missing drives / RAW format bug or do we have to wait a while longer for this important fix?

 

After the latest update the system takes twenty or thirty seconds more to shut down

Nothing yet on Verizon. It usually takes a few days for me.
