Windows 10: Cumulative Update KB4016240 Windows 10 v1703 Build 15063.250

Three PC's done here, DISM and chkdsk still bust though. Can't win 'em all I guess.

The lockscreen has gone again.

No more lockscreen even at login as group policy works for PRO again. No task schedule needed any more.

Minor detail - if you decide to set start screen to be same as lockscreen, lockscreen has to be temporarily enabled.

 

Confirmed: DISM still doesn't work.

The update went smooth over here, as well.

DISM has not been fixed, unfortunately *Sad

DISM and SFC function perfectly on my system...






...but this is happening only because I have already deleted the two Registry keys shown in this post.

By the way, this cumulative update did NOT add these two Reg keys back into my Registry:








I hope Microsoft will deal with it and fix DISM, soon.

 

Monitor ICC profiles resetting after exitting games cannot be seen either.

Yeah, what's this thing? One of our machines got the update last night for creators and all we see across all user accounts is this thing in the start menu with a nasty white box icon. Looks rubbish.

 

No idea. People is having troubles with this. Also, do you have the Mixed Reality Portal troube too? It's an app that does nothing.

 

I agree. Even my new gaming PC has it too and it does not even have a camera.

I'm as puzzled as you. It appears to be a 'place holder' for an app that's not available yet. Opening it puts a 'downloading' bar beneath it on the Start menu, but no progress is shown. Open Store, click the 'user' icon and looking at 'Downloads and updates' doesn't list it at all.

 

Same here, just ignoring them, The Mixed Reality thing is supposed to be on insider builds https://mixed.reality.news/news/try-...uired-0176419/ why it's on the release build is anyone's guess, placeholder maybe? (Used to that on Beta Testing elsewhere where non working things appear as a placeholder)

 

Just to see if it was working or not? Not sure about the second one, but I do believe that the results are OK.

[/quote] It's the /RestoreHealth option that fails in 1703. Using /resetbase has the side effect that you can no longer uninstall updates. Have you tried /RestoreHealth after using it? If so, it may be the long-sought 'fix', safer than the registry hacks used so far.
