KB4016240 - OS Build 15063.250. Do I need it?

I have Win10 Home v1703 Creators Build 15063.138

I have been pointed

But there are no Updates available per Settings so does that mean that I don't need this April 25, 2017 Update —(KB4016240 - OS Build 15063.250)?

All done here. Four machines plus a Windows to Go stick. All went without a single glitch. Cleaned up and imaged to an external drive.
OS feels snappier now. Off to bug hunting....

FYI........

This cumulative will also hit Insider Release Preview Ring and Insider Slow Ring. They are both still on the base 15063.xxx. Not Fast Ring because that's already past base into the 16xxx.

 

Just completed! No issues.

 

Checking for updates: ~2 minutes (via WUMT)
Download x64: 2 minutes (108 MB out of 341 MB)
Installation: ~30 seconds or less
Working on updates: ~30 seconds
Restart afterwards: ~2 minutes or more
Cleanup (ResetBase+DiskCleanup): ~13 minutes

Total time of life wasted: ~20 minutes (I hate my life)

 

Cheer up! It'll only get longer as the cumulative gets bigger and it wastes more time trying to figure out what it doesn't need to update! *Smile

 

I am disappointed. I had hoped at least one of these issues would have been addressed - none of them have (I've just tested them).

As usual, directly from the catalog. It went fine on both machines. Will say about 8-10 minutes with restart.

 

I can confirm, DISM still doesn't work. Shame.

Features on Demand in Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 The Windows Servicing Guy

In Windows 8 you could remove unused features to conserve disk space. The command still works in Windows 10, says it ran successfully but it doesn't actually remove the feature payload. Filed a few bug complaints, but they got nowhere.

Also the dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup /resetbase still gives an error after it runs.

Edit: Apparently it works now...
