From looking at the forum threads, it appears that there are 2 Win-10 updates for May 9th? The one being discussed in this thread, is downloading on my PC right now.

Will another one follow?

 

How come the list of fixes has been shortened. I rebooted for the update and when I came back to the forum, it's like half the list has gone.

Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (KB2467173). SMPlayer 17.4.2 asked for it a few weeks ago.

 

Five minutes flat, from clicking on "check for updates" to desktop including a second Defender update that popped up during the process.

If they are all like this from now on (have they improved the update process?) I will be a happy camper.

Also resolved a problem I had with loading pages on certain websites since last update.

I see this and I think "If it ain't broke, what do you think you are trying to fix?"

SFC reports no problems, so why run DISM with the /restorehealth switch without running /checkhealth first?

What's more, do you have any failed processes which flag up component store corruption in the first place?

By all means upvote the Feedback Hub, but otherwise unless you really need to fix the component store, you are just spoiling for a fight!

 

Not just me then. I thought that to and actually had two tabs open. I thought I had opened a wrong thread because the KB number in the title seemed different between the two. I stepped back with the browser in one tab and could bring it all up again.

I thought it was me and didn't pay much attention. Something happened though.

Udated with no problems. Still having the Wireless Display Media Viewer trouble there, but it's not important as it's not causing problems. Also, I know Microsoft has been reported and they're working on it, so... it will be solved eventually.
