    Windows update KB4048954 is failing to install.

    Noticed that my laptop has been running slowly and on checking the updates found that this one had failed a number of times and suspect this was causing the issues. Tried downloading the update and installing manually but still it got stuck at around 50%.

    Had a look at the latest versions and noticed that I was running OS Build 15063.674

    I thought I would try installing the update November 2, 2017—KB4049370 (OS Build 15063.675) manually and then the try the latest one again and this worked.

    Shouldn't have to do this with cumulative updates, but it's the only way I managed to get KB4048954 installed.

    I'm now up to date and running Version 1703 (OS Build 15063.726)

    Hopefully this might help others having the update issue.

    Yep, that's the main purpose of the update, but it could be installed on all PCs running version 1703.

    There's no need to install it though unless you have a Surface Laptop (newest).

    Are you running version 1703?

    There's no need to install it though unless you have a Surface Laptop (newest).
