  1. Cumulative update KB4483234 stops my Bluetooth dongle from working - This is the second...

For the second time in a month, a W10 update has disabled use of my Bluetooth dongle which supports my wireless keyboard. This time it was KB4483234. Previously, with the update ending in 27, I learned that it's not possible to turn off automatic updates on W10. The only option is to uninstall the update and then view and hide the update. So I did. And that update hasn't returned. About five days ago when the number 234 update loaded automatically, leaving no choice but to install as I power down, it killed my dongle again. I went back in, used the update viewer, and hid that one as well. However, today, when powering down, it installed the same update again. Even after being hidden. And again I powered up, no keyboard, uninstalled the update, rebooted, then hid the update again.

That's where I am now. And let me just say, this is not acceptable for anyone that works daily on their computer. I see no way to stop the system from updating until I run Windows Update manually, see what's being loaded, and decide on my own. My ergonomics depend on my wireless keyboard (I write about five-thousand words a day. I'm not going to start typing on my laptop. That will kill my word count. And it is extremely annoying for Windows to update without notifying. A lot of time lost fixing this issue. And more time out here trying to discuss it.

There's a comment somewhere made through the program for hiding updates, and I've never seen a comment or answer notification. So you have to wonder, What good does it do for us to do Microsoft's work for them if they aren't going to fix the problem?

Question: Anyone else have this problem? Anyone find the why of it or how to fix it? Because I get the feeling every new update that comes down now will give me this issue.

I have W10 64 bit running on an older Dell XPS 14. Limited USB ports. Only two in the back. When not working if I uninstall the dongle and the driver, and reconnect the dongle, Windows sees it immediately. And will install it. Then it searches for my keyboard, installs the first driver for that, to pair with Bluetooth, but will not let me input the pairing code. So it stops there. Once I roll back the update it immediately recognizes the dongle, the keyboard, and gets the Logitech drive and puts that in.

  2. Bluetooth USB Dongle

Ok so here's a question. I had a revelation today that: "Duh, my keyboard/mouse is bluetooth, shouldn't that be the same thing?" My goal here is to get my new Motorola HT820 bluetooth headphones to work with on my computer.

Keyboard/Mouse is Logitech MX5500 Revolution, bluetooth wireless, came with a USB dongle that they connect through. I tried today to get the headset to work, and it won't receive sound. I can get it "connected," but with complications. I'm using Windows XP, have Setpoint 4.7, and I've tried the following:

-Changed the radio settings to a bluetooth hub instead of locked to the keyboard/mouse.

    -Clicked "Connect Other Devices."

    - Paired headphones with windows. Windows connects correctly, the device reads connections, windows shows it as "already connected" when I try to connect it again. I click on Control Panel -> Bluetooth Devices, and I see the "Motorola HT820" listed as "Passkey enabled," but it doesn't say "Connected" like the keyboard and mouse do. Also, audio does play on the headphones.

-Click on Properties on HT820, and then on services, it does not show any services at all.

    - Searched around google, logitech, motorola websites & forums to answers or help, nothing. Closet I got was logitech's "Bluetooth FAQ" which has the following paragraph (http://www.logitech.com/lang/pdf/bluetooth/bluetooth-faq.pdf):

"3.6 How do I listen to music wirelessly with a Bluetooth headphone?
All you need is a Bluetooth headphone and a media player such as iTunes or Windows Media Player 10. For optimal results, it is recommended you use a headphone with Bluetooth 2.0 Enhanced Data Rate, to benefit from the maximum bandwidth (up to 3Mb/s).
Please refer to our online "How To" documents for step-by-step instructions related to your specific device (www.logitech.com/bluetooth/howto)." [That link transfers you back to the same pdf document - it's a circle]

-I tried to install latest Widcomm stack from broadcomm's website, but it says it's not compatible with this dongle.

-Called Logitech Tech Support - got a total jerk girl who straight up said "No i can't help you." And then wouldn't give me the time of day after that.

I've read on threads on Logitech forum that people are using this headset with logitech dongles. Any help getting this connected? I just don't want to have 2 bluetooth dongles connected when I rly only should need this one. Otherwise I guess I'll just purchase one of the ones above, and use that to connect my keyboard, mouse, and headphones all in one swoop.

Sidenote: anyone have experience/knowledge with behavior when 2 bluetooth USB dongles are connected to the same computer?

Bluetooth Stopped Working After Win10 Cumulative Update

My Bluetooth device, a Fitbit dongle also known as a Fitbit Base Station, last communicated with my Fitbit in the morning of 12 Jan 2017. Later that day, a Win10 cumulative update was installed. Since then the Fitbit Connect
s/w no longer syncs with the Fitbit via the dongle.

I have tried suggestions on the web, including making sure the driver was up to date, with no success. The current driver is 10 years old, but when Windows searches for a more recent driver, it says the driver is up to date. When I click on "Driver
Details" in Control Panel, this message is displayed: "No driver files are required or have been loaded for this device." I have found more current driver files and pointed Windows to the folder where they reside, but Win10 again says the driver is already
    up to date.

The Control Panel (Devices and Printers) says the dongle is working properly, and lists it as an "Unspecified" device. I think this means it is being recognized, but not being recognized as a Bluetooth device.

The Device Manager fails to list the dongle. There is no "Bluetooth" or "Other" device category which I think means the Device Manager isn't recognizing the dongle at all.

The Action Center lacks the "Bluetooth" button.

When I click on "All Settings" in the Action Center, then "Network and Internet", then "Airplane Mode", under Wireless Devices "Wireless Network Connection" has an OFF/ON button, but the same button for "Bluetooth" is missing.

Any ideas what I can do to get Bluetooth back?

Bluetooth dongle that has stopped working with Windows 10.

    Hi

I have an ASUS/Windows 10 laptop without Bluetooth so I use a bluetooth dongle that has stopped working with Windows 10. In settings says 'Driver is unavailable' for the Dongle. I have searched but i cannot find the right driver.

I ran the troubleshooter for the device and it says - CSR_BTPORT_01 DOES NOT HAVE A DRIVER.

Now I am stuck. Any suggestions?

    Thnx, Kim
