  1. Cumulative updates causing sound issues - Realtek

Everything was running fine prior to the update.

There is an issue with the following updates:
    KB4601319
    KB4023057
    KB4601050
AND UPDATE REMOVAL OF ADOBE FLASH PLAYER

After update installation, I have sound issues where the sound volume lowers for no reason in P3D version 4.5.14.34698 and sometimes no sound in STEAM games.

In P3D I also get to the point where I can't turn sound off and on because of stuttering views with sound on. If I turn the sound off there is no stuttering. I then must uninstall and reinstall the Realtek sound driver to stop the stuttering issue and get back to the sound volume lowering for no reason

I have reimaged and loaded the windows updates 3 time and always have the same issue.

I have downloaded and installed the latest Realtek driver from my ASUS mother board site.

Is there a known issue with the updates?????

    Any help would be appreciated

  2. Sound problem

    Hi,

We need to investigate further so that we can identify the cause of the issue. We suggest running the Troubleshooter and see if it helps. Follow the steps below:

    • Type and select Troubleshooting on the Search bar/Cortana.
    • Click Hardware and Sound.
    • Select Playing Audio under Sound.
    • Follow the steps that will be provided.
If the steps does not work. We suggest downloading a fresh copy of the audio driver from Realtek and see if it helps.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Sound Quality

One thing that sticks out from looking at your "My Computer" specs. You list "ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)" which suggests you do not have the correct sound hardware driver. Your motherboard has Realtek sound and the first step is to install the Realtek sound drivers. My ASUS also came with Sonic Studio 2 which is a sound enhancement package. Check the ASUS install disc to see if you have something similar.

May not be a speaker problem.

  4. Cumulative updates causing sound issues - Realtek

    No Sound!!

I am having issues with sound on my mom's Acer desktop PC. I have troubleshooted the sound, and did as it suggested to do by turning off the sound effects. It's an Acer Aspire XC-603G that is listed in my specs. Where can I find an updated driver for it for this computer? It uses Realtek High Definition Audio.
